Chip Darius, MA, OHST, CSHO, EMT

Chip Darius is founder and president of Safety Priority Consultants, LLC, which, since 2000, has provided training and consulting to over 950 U.S. and international client organizations in occupational safety & health, OSHA compliance, risk management, and safety management systems.

Since 2002, Chip has been an Instructor for the OSHA Training Institute Region 1 Education Center, designing and teaching courses to safety professionals and OSHA officials in Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Emergency Action Plans, Safety Management Systems, Incident Investigation, General Industry and Construction OSHA Standards, and other related topics. Chip is also a highly experienced expert witness in legal matters, having been retained in over 430 catastrophic injury and fatality cases. He has also served as a safety advisor for CBIA.

Chip holds multiple safety and health certifications and certificates and earned BS and MA degrees from UConn. He has served as Adjunct Faculty for four universities, authored three guidebooks, and designed more than 200 specialized courses in safety and trainer development. Chip has presented on-site training, conference sessions, keynote presentations, and seminar programs across numerous U.S. states, Canadian provinces, and several foreign countries.

Chip has also been a certified Emergency Medical Technician for 46 years. He currently serves as a volunteer EMT with the Cromwell Fire Department, where he also served as an elected Fire Commissioner. He and his wife Marla, a registered nurse, have five children and two grandchildren.

Robert Hunt

Robert Hunt is an Occupational Safety Training Specialist for CONN-OSHA and has been in his current role since 2022. After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in biology, he joined CONN-OSHA as a trainee in 2019. During his time with CONN-OSHA, he has worked alongside both the Compliance Officers and Consultants. He is an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer for Construction and General Industry.
